Sacral Chakra Stones

Last Updated on

The Sacral chakra is the second chakra the system of seven chakras. It’s located just below the naval and above the pubic bone. It is associated with the bladder and the reproductive organs in our physical bodies, and an imbalance in this chakra may well manifest itself as a urinary infection or problems with the urinary tract.

Our different chakras

It is sometimes referred to as our water center or the sexual center. In metaphysical terms, the Sacral chakra is the area that governs our joy in sensual pleasures of all kinds.

If your Sacral chakra is out of balance, you may experience lethargy, a lack of enthusiasm for life, or feelings of despair and hopelessness. It is the chakra that sits between the Base and the Solar Plexus and forms a “bridge” between our intuitive reactions and our physical reality.

Because of its strong connection with the urinary functions of the body, the Sacral chakra is responsible for the healthy functioning of the adrenal glands that sit above the kidneys. Kidney energy is an essential part of the Chinese philosophy of the Five Elements and the Meridian system of healing.

Our kidneys and adrenal glands need to be in balance with the rest of our organs, so we have the necessary drive and will to move forward with plans, schemes, and dreams.

Our Sacral chakra also governs our creativity and helps us with maintaining emotional balance.

Note:

Chakras originated from the Hindu and Tantric Buddhism religions. While we look at Chakras today, it is through a very westernized-lens. Hindu and Tantric Buddhism religions don’t associate crystals, colors, or feelings with the different chakras. If you’d like to learn more about the history of chakras from a non-western perspective, please read here. And while you read through this, please keep in mind that this, again, is from a western yogi perspective.

Sacral Chakra Stones

Carnelian

If you are searching for crystals to improve self-love, look no further than Carnelian. Carnelian is one of the most popular Sacral chakra stones. It has a wonderful soothing vibration that will lift your mood and make you feel empowered. The color of carnelian is a beautiful, warm, uplifting shade of orange that is reminiscent of sunsets and warm summer evenings.

Orange crystal stone

In Ancient History, carnelian was associated with fertility and is a popular crystal for improving family relationships.

It is also a stone for motivation, endurance and courage. It can help to balance the energies of an over-stimulated Sacral chakra when placed on or near the Sacral area during meditation and chakra balancing rituals.

Orange Calcite

Orange Calcite is also an excellent Sacral chakra stone. It is a suitable choice for anyone experiencing a lack of will power. It can help with feelings of sadness and fear, primarily if these are caused by the negative influences or those around you.

Orange and white crystal stone

Orange calcite can help you to see the truth in situations and to cut through illusions created by others to manipulate you to suit their needs.

It is a very empowering crystal and has a warm, supportive and nurturing vibration that can gently lead you back to your own truth and power.

It helps to cleanse and energize the Sacral chakra, getting positive energy moving and encouraging you to let go of self-destructive habits or thoughts and behaviors.

Tiger’s Eye

Tiger’s Eye embodies the energies of both the Earth and the Sun. It is a powerful grounding crystal and can help you to find your true center of balance when you are feeling either physically or emotionally wobbly.

Orange and brown gemstone

In Chinese medicine, the Sacral center is the gateway from which Chi, or Life Force Energy, flows throughout the rest of the body.

Tiger’s Eye can help to balance and ground this energy, allowing change and creativity to emerge. This crystal also has polarizing qualities that help to balance Yin and Yang energies. Tiger’s Eye is a very useful stone for new beginnings and if you need to release fear and find new reserves of courage.

Amber

Amber is not strictly a crystal because it is formed from tree resin, which has hardened over time, often trapping flora and fauna within it.

Amber has a beautiful warm and sunny glow that reminds us of the nurturing qualities of the Sun.

It also carries Earth’s energies, making it an ideal stone for grounding our emotions into our bodies and into the Earth beneath our feet. Amber also helps us find the positives in any situation and encourages creativity, passion and motivation.

The highest quality amber comes from the Baltic region. It is highly protective, soaking up and transmuting negativity on many levels.

Sunstone

Sunstone is one of our favorite stones for confidence. Sunstone can help to open and balance the Sacral chakra so your self-confidence is improved and your leadership qualities shine through.

It has a joyful, radiant vibration that leads to happiness and optimism. If you feel like your true personality eroded or subsumed by others, or like you are regularly being overlooked or taken for granted, try balancing your Sacral chakra with Sunstone by carrying a piece around with you in your pocket.

Tangerine Quartz

Tangerine Quartz is a fantastic crystal in terms of its healing and inspirational qualities. It’s a stone that will enhance creativity, promote self-understanding, heal old wounds and bring a sense of playful curiosity to a jaded or apathetic outlook.

This tone can help you to make positive changes that may seem scary by bolstering your courage and amplifying your feelings of self-confidence and self-worth.

How to Use Sacral Chakra Stones

You can use chakra stones in many ways to maintain a healthy flow of energy throughout the chakra system.

The Sacral chakra can be balanced and cleansed by combining intention with any of the orange-colored stones mentioned above.

Try placing your Sacral chakra stones on or near your Sacral chakra when lying flat during meditation or performing a chakra balancing ritual. The stone on your chakra will absorb any negative energy. It also releases its positive energy into your Sacral chakra. This will help open your Sacral chakra and move any negative energy that may be stuck.

Another way to use any chakra stone is to wear it as jewelry or to carry it with you in your pocket or purse. In this way, you can access the vibration and power of the crystal at any time.

Lastly, you can use a chakra wand. Chakra wands are useful because they contain stones for all of your chakras, so you just need the one wand and can work on whichever chakra you wish to align.

Being aware of the stone can remind you to keep your intentions clear, or perhaps to stick to your commitments regarding making healthy changes to both habits and thought processes.
